Our Vision Of The New Centre

Dear Samatha Friend,

As you are aware, members of the Samatha Association in southern England have been searching for a new meditation centre. We hope the centre will be a wonderful resource for the whole of Samatha.

We are excited to let you know that we have now found the property, and our offer has been accepted!

It will be used for days of practice, for weekends, including more beginners' and introductory courses, and for evening classes. Longer periods of residential practice will also be possible.

As the centre develops it will become an increasingly creative place for many forms of dhamma activity, strengthening our Sangha and nurturing a younger generation.

The Property

The detached property has nine possible individual bedrooms, a shrine room, the necessary living areas, and potential to build on a first floor roof terrace. It has a big garden to be beautifully developed, and three further outside convertible spaces. The building itself is modern, spacious and light.

Set in an urban area it comes with a certain amount of traffic noise, but the house is set back from the road on a drive with automatic gates and is surrounded by trees. It feels private and the neighbourhood is leafy and attractive. A great asset is a peaceful park and lake only five minutes' walk from the house.

There is ample parking in front of the house and extensive free parking nearby. Milton Keynes Central station, with a direct line to London (30 mins), is a pleasant 25-minute walk away. It is an hour's drive from both Oxford and Cambridge.

The Appeal

The new Southern Centre can only be purchased through our great generosity!

We need to raise £675,000 by Friday, 20th October 2017 in order to complete the purchase.

Donations to The Samatha Trust towards the new Southern Samatha Centre can be made:
